OUR STORY

Hello, we are the Mohrings; the designers, creators, artists and managers of this amazing family business. We love to design and craft Australian timber wall art, homewares and gifts. All our products are made in our workshop in Rowville on the charming foothills of Mt Dandening in Victoria.

Sarah and Hyrum love Australian wood, the smell, the feel, and the different character and tones in each piece. We are both multi-gen Aussies, and have lived in Victoria, NSW, Tassie, and QLD. We love discovering new parts of Australia. Our range of artistic pieces reflects our love of Australian wood and our love of the culture, land, animals, flowers and beauty of Australia.

From our original concept of hexagonal wall art, designed so that people can select and combine specific art pieces that embody Australia for them individually. We expanded our products to include entertaining tableware and giftware incorporating and expanding our gorgeous art making these useful items also beautiful.

Sarah’s creative background includes calligraphy, paint, watercolour and digital art, while Hyrum is technically minded and hands-on having built a wooden speedboat from scratch. Combining our passions, we have created a range of wooden products of the highest quality that are loved by local Australians and visitors alike.

VALUES & ETHOS

We believe in the power and beauty of Art:

Our art is the intersection between the natural and the crafted, the grown and the made, between mother nature and creative humanity, between wood and technology. Our goal is to create pieces of art that speak to individuals about Australia and their Australian experience.

We believe in sustainability:

We aim to reduce waste and incorporate recycled materials where possible through our production practices and product packaging. The timber materials used in the production of our products are harvested in accordance with Australian Forestry standards and sourced from plantation timber where regeneration programs are in place. It is vital to our business that our products are usable and safe. The raw materials we use including timber, and coatings are safe and non-toxic.
